Why Well Logging Holds Great Significance in the Geotechnical Industry

Why Well Logging Holds Great Significance in the Geotechnical Industry

When faced with the prospect of studying the contents of a recently dug borehole, drillers look toward well logging as the perfect solution. It is a clever means to unearth ample data about the nature of certain subterranean formations that can later be studied to decide upon appropriate action to be taken. Hence, this blog […]

The To Do List: Making the Most of your Rental

Rental equipment from Mount Sopris can be the most economical solution for short-term, non-recurring projects.  We have the most comprehensive range of solutions for small boreholes, ideal for groundwater, mining, geotechnical, and environmental investigations. Mount Sopris offers everything rental customers will need, including probes, data acquisition system, winch, software and all accessories – backed by our best-in-class support. There are, however, a few things that our rental customers must DO to ensure the success of their project:

Points to Consider while buying Core Logging Software

Points to Consider while buying Core Logging Software

Core logging has been traditionally done manually. While it has served its purpose for decades, manual core logging has failed to keep pace with the technological developments witnessed across mining, petroleum, and groundwater. It is time-consuming and requires extensive manpower for miles of core, and also presents problems in reporting, formatting, and record keeping. Core logging software, such as CoreCAD™, addresses these drawbacks by dramatically improving productivity and allowing direct input of core descriptions into a digital interface, where the data can be analyzed, combined with other sources of data, and visually presented for reporting purposes.

Once every decade! Don’t miss Exploration ’17

Exploration ‘17 is the sixth of the very successful series of DMEC decennial mining exploration conferences, which have been held in the seventh year of every decade starting in 1967. The theme of the Exploration ’17 conference is “Integrating the Geosciences: The Challenge of Discovery”, featuring a multi-national, multi-disciplinary technical programme, exhibition, workshops and field schools. Mount Sopris Instruments and ALT will be attending this once-every-10-year event. Please visit us in booth 206 to ask about our new technologies including the Spectral Induced Polarization (SIP) sonde, the Neutron Generator (nGen) sonde, the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) probe in rental, our new 2500 meter IWA winch, and product upgrades for the Heat Pulse Flowmeter and Inline Fluid Temp and Conductivity. Lastly, we will also be on hand to give demonstrations of the new Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Casing Integrity Workspaces in WellCAD software Version 5.2.
