Borehole Conditions for Engineering Projects- AEG Short Course
Information gleaned from rock cores and testing in the resultant borehole create the fundamental data source for use in analysis and design on many engineering and environmental projects. This course will train participants in collecting data during drilling, describing rock core, in-situ testing in the borehole, and interpreting and presenting information from these sources. The course instructors have wide experience with investigations in rock and include geologists specializing in engineering and environmental geology, a driller, and a geophysicist.

July Wireline Workshop – Wireline Logging Review & NMR
The Wireline Workshop bimonthly bulletin provides valuable information for wireline logging in the mining and mineral exploration industries. The July issue reviewed borehole navigation and verticality, borehole conditions and borehole fluid assessment. It also featured an overview of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) measurement and a guest article covering the principles and applications of Borehole Magnetic Resonance (BMR).

Field Training Lithium Mine in Salar de Atacama, Chile
Mount Sopris Instruments geophysicist, Lia Martinez, recently spent a week giving a training on how to use our acoustic televiewer tool for production lithium mining at the SQM Salar de Atacama lithium mine outside of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile in northern Chile. SQM uses a variety of Mount Sopris and ALT equipment on both sides of the border at mines in Chile and Argentina. Given the process of lithium mining as a brine, logging data is primarily collected and processed by Hydrogeologists in their Production and Exploration group.
New Rental Available – NMR Probe
Mount Sopris is excited to now offer a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance probe for rental. This tool is a modified version of a tool typically used for deeper oil and gas logging. The Mount Sopris NMR tool measures total porosity independent of lithology and can calculate continuous permeability and grain size distribution. With its 60 mm body and innovative technology, the NMR tool provides accurate subsurface measurements for a variety of slim borehole logging applications...
