Mount Sopris is excited to announce our participation in the U2017 Global Uranium Symposium being held in Casper, Wyoming from August 21-25th, 2017!
Mount Sopris Instrument Company was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1951 at a time when locating uranium for weapon and reactor use was of national interest. The company’s first product was a portable scintillation counter. Since then, we have designed, manufactured, and supplied a wider variety of natural gamma tools than any other manufacturer in this industry.
We are proud of our history and currently work to supply the best products possible for the Uranium Industry. For that reason, we will be attending and demonstrating equipment at the upcoming Uranium Symposium in Wyoming.
You’re not going to want to miss seeing these new gamma logging probes for uranium!
On hand, we will be displaying handheld scintillometers designed and manufactured by Radiation Solutions in Canada. Classic natural gamma tools will be present in the form of our 32GR Slim Gamma and 40LGR Gamma, SP, and SPR probe. Last but not least, we will have our newly designed 19NGR Nano Gamma tool which is an incredible 19 mm in diameter!

Here is some information about the conference from the conference website:
“The U2017 symposium is already shaping up to be an educational and best practices experience for members of the uranium industry – those responsible for the mining and production of the fuel used for nuclear power. Our goal is to bring in both experts and frontline workers involved in all phases of the uranium fuel cycle to discuss and share knowledge of an energy source that is vital to keeping America’s economy strong as well as to advance uranium mining, safety and reclamation.
In addition to workshops and presentations on uranium research and global developments, participants will have the opportunity to tour regional mines while enjoying the beautiful Wyoming weather and hospitality.
